Rapier UAS: the high performance RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) made in Italy

The Rapier family is a fixed-wing aircraft, with a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) spanning from 25 to 50 kg, designed from the Italian Company Sky Eye Systems S.r.l. (SES) in accordance to the STANAG 4703, SAE.AER P-2-6-7, DO 178C standards, to ensure the highest levels of reliability and robustness for the structure, software and hardware.
In fact, the cell uses the latest generations of multi-layer carbon fiber materials and are associated with an excellent aerodynamic design (for reducing fuel consumption). This certainly allows the Rapier to minimize the overall weight and to be the only UAS in the MINI category which can be equipped simultaneously with a high definition EO/IR sensor and a SES property miniaturised Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR).
Finally, thanks to this features the Rapier UAS allows the operator to carry out day and night missions (both civil/government and military ones), even in degraded environmental conditions (clouds, smog…), as well as performing Change Detection analysis and Ground Moving Target Indicator missions.
