Sheet moulding compound (SMC) is a ready to mould fibre – reinforced in a thermosetting matrix material – primarily used in compression molding.
Features
SMC is both a process and reinforced composite material. This is manufacturedby dispersing long strand (usually ≥ 25 mm) of chopped fibre, commonly glassfibres or carbon fibres on a bath of a thermoset resin (our product includes an epoxy matrix typically on carbon reinforcements).
